DEPART 3rd May 2008
DAY1
- Saturday 3rd May
Check-in at Dublin Airport at 10.40 for flight departing 12.40 to Bilbao,
arriving Bilbao 1S.40 (Spanish time). Transfer by coach to Garabandal. Depending
on time available it may be possible to visit the Miraculous Crucifix of Limpias
on the way.
Dinner and overnight in Garabandal.
DAY 2
- Sunday 4th May
Breakfast. A Mass for the group will be arranged in the Parish Church. During
the morning we will make the climb to the pines, site of the 2000 or so apparitions.
On our way to the Pines we will follow the Stations of the Cross. During this
our first day in Garabandal, a familiarization video will be shown, in the
hotel auditorium. In the afternoon or evening our Spiritual Director will
probably arrange a Holy Hour in the local Church.
Dinner and overnight in Garabandal.
DAY 3 -
Monday 5th May
After Breakfast we will have Mass in the Parish Church (subject to confumation)
followed by a guided tour explaining the events and showing us'the homes of
the' visionaries, including Conchita's house, now a museum. After lunch we
will again visit the pines where we will bury our petitions in front of the
pine trees. This being our last day in Garabandal our Spiritual Director may
arrange confessions, a Holy Hour, enrolinent in the Brown Scapular, and blessing
of religious objects.
Dinner and overnight in Garabandal.
DAY 4
- Tuesday 6th May
Breakfast. Today we will have a full day tour that taking in the Monastery
of Santo Toribio. The coach will collect all wish to avail of the optional
tour to (cost approximately 20 euro depends how many travel). The Monastery
of Ssnto Toribio the highlight of which is the veneration of the True Cross.
The teft arm of the True Cross is the largest relic of the True Cross in existence.
We also hope to arrange Mass here.
Afternoon free. Dinner and overnight in Garabandal.
DAY 5
- Wednesday 7th May
After breakfast we will set out for Santiago de Compostela stopping in Covadonga
for Mass. We then continue to
Santiago with a stop for lunch, not included, en route.
Dinner and overnight in Santiago.
DAY 6
- Thursday 8th May
After breakfast there will be a guided tour of the Plaza del Obradoiro area,
including. the magnificent Cathedral of St James, built according to tradition,
on the spot where the Apostle of Jesus was buried. Concelebrated Mass in the
Cathedral.
After lunch (not included) we set out for Fatima arriving in time for dinner.
Rosary and candlelight procession at the Chapel of the Apparitions (Capelinha)
at 9.30 p.m.
DAY 7
- Friday 9th May
After breakfast there will be Mass for the group in the Rosary Basilica at
10.00 a.m. This will be followed by a guided tour of the Sanctuary area including
a visit to the Rosary Basilica and the tombs of Sr Lucia, Blessed Francisco
and Blessed Jacinta and later a visit to the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration.
In the afternoon we go by coach to Fatima Parish Church where the children
were baptised and where Our Lady appeared to Blessed Jacinta in 1918. We then
go to Valinhos where Our Lady appeared to the three children in August 1917,
visit the Cabeco where the Angel appeared twice in 1916 and visit the well
at the bottom of Lucia's garden where the Angel appeared on another occasion
in 1916. After this we will visit the homes of the visionaries.
Dinner in hotel. Rosary and candlelight procession at Capelinha at 9.30 p.m.
DAY 8
- Saturday lOth May
After breakfast there will be an optional full-day tour to Lisbon. In addition
to general sightseeing the tour will in-clude Mass in St. Anthony's Church,
built on the spot where he was born in the 12'" century and a visit to
the room in Estrela where Our Lady of Fatima appeared to Blessed Jacinta in
1920. After packed lunch we will visit the Church of the Eucharistic Miracle
in Santarem after which we will have some free time for shopping or relaxing
in the oldest part of the city (cost €35). Packed Lunch for those on
tour. Lunch in hotel for those not on tour.
Dinner in hotel. Rosary (4th Decade in English) and candlelight procession
at Capelinha at 9.30 p.m. Saturday night is particularly colourful because
of the large crowds who come for the weekend.
DAY 9
- Sunday 11th May
After breakfast the Sunday Morning Ceremonies open in the Sanctuary Square
with the Rosary in the Capelinha at 10.15 a.m. (4th Decade in English). Our
Lady's statue is then carried in a liturgical procession to the Altar in front
of the Basilica where an International Mass will be concelebrated at 11.00.
The Mass concludes with the famous Adeus, or Farewell Procession, in which
the statue of Our Lady is returned to the Capelinha through a sea of waving
white handkerchiefs.
Lunch in hotel. Afternoon free but there will be a Procession of the Blessed
Sacrament in the Sanctuary Square at 5.30 p.m. There may also be a private
Mass for our groups in the Auditorium of each hotel at 6.45 p.m.
Dinner in hotel. Rosary and candlelight procession at Capelinha at 9.30 p.m.
DAY 10
- Monday 12th May
After an early breakfast we will depart Fatima for Lisbon Airport and' flight
home arriving Dublin Airport 13.20.
Pilgrims are free to opt out of any activities if they wish
